SF don't tell me you are alrady predicting a division championship for the Sox? I admit it looks good, but there are just too many Sox fans celebrating after an 8 game win streak and its only the first week of August.

???

No predictions here that I can detect in my writing, nor that are implied, even. Just a news roundup.

yankees fans make me want to chew tinfoil sometimes, just to distract myself from the fucking cognitive dissonance.

if we're down on our team when they're in first place, we're "losers at heart who don't know how to be winners." if we're feeling good about the sox' chances after an eight game win streak, we're "celebrating" prematurely.

it's one thing to be a fan of the yankees. it's another thing entirely to tell sox fans how to root for THEIR team. piss off.

Beth, keep your personal problems to yourself.

BTW, how long did it take you to look up cognitive dissonance. I'm pretty sure being from Boston that your familiar with the word fucking. As in the Sox fucking suck. You must have heard that for about 86 years.

Wow, angry. Does Battingly have a new name?

I am with Beth on this one, obviously. She reasonably points out a major disconnect in YF's line of criticism (in his most recent thread, not this one). He'll take us to task for dumping on our team (and his, of course, but what does he expect?), and when we are excited? Then we're cocky a**holes, full of bile. YF is the Gary Sheffield of bloggers, simultaneously all-knowing (as if!) and completely sheltered from reality.

note also the "classy" resort to personal jabs.

If Beth had actually written that YF's line of criticism was annoying then maybe she'd be being reasonable. She generalized of course, saying that yankee fans pushed her to the tin foil (When certian Sox fans make me upset, I bang my head against a rubber wall until the doctors rush in. We all have our coping mechanisms). Personally, I supported you guys in celebrating your long-awaited title. Although, the parade down Boylston still featured some loud chants about Yankees sucking, but I thought on a whole it was nice to see New Englanders united in joy (as opposed to misery).

It is ironic that SF, of all people, aligns himself with beth's argument. It's as if he never throws a wet blanket on Yanks fans happiness during a particularly good stretch. His attempts to make loyal yankee fans turn on beloved players (Sheffield) is as transparent as Schilling's monologue about A-Rod's status as a real Yankee. Isn't SF's posts about how Yank fans should be angry at Sheff an attempt to tell us how to root for our team, beth?

I wasn't telling you to be angry at Sheffield. I was telling you that I would be angry at Sheffield is he were on my team. That I thought his actions unprofessional. That I was surprised that Yankees fans, who stereotypically hold their players to the highest professional standards, would grant him a free pass. His newest idiocy hasn't even been touched here, either. Those same standards applied to Manny when he acted the fool, and I wrote about it openly. So I am not sure how that is inconsistent. And I am not sure that qualifies as telling you how to root for your team. If anything, it's proof that I am not applying differing standards to the two teams. Professional standards don't change with a change in uniform.

So YF is the Gary Sheffield of bloggers?! Awesome. But then I'm totally underpaid. And SF has used his last Buddy Pass.

//Isn't SF's posts about how Yank fans should be angry at Sheff an attempt to tell us how to root for our team, Beth?//

I don't know, Nick. I didn't say it. Your point about generalizing is taken.

This is like the fourth time in two years you've told me I've used my last buddy pass. Nyaaah nyaaah nyaah!!!!

Don't Push Me.
