That's a very nice post. The Bronx Banter one, of course. YF goes away for a few days, and the best he can do is come back meekly, point browsers away from this site, and insult his co-blogger nastily?

Glad to know your vacation has refreshed you, YF. Now get back to work.

I might as well post this here to spark some discussion of current baseball events:

Resolved: Alan Embree is Ramiro Mendoza's Good Twin

Attention YF:

Screw you. Since when is a fan "full of bile" because he's happy his team is in first place? You'd be celebrating too if your team were in first place (in fact, I recall that you did a while back when the Yanks did get to first place for a whole 24 hours). It's hypocrisy like this that makes you and your ilk all the more annoying to the rest of the baseball world.

If the situations were reversed, you'd be making fun of the Sox and celebrating because the Yanks have a good lead in the division. So stop telling us how to root for our team.

Oh yeah, and I hope you guys learn the hard way why the Sox had to let Alan Embree go.

Can nothing soothe the bitter bite of the Vermonter? Such tawdry exclamations may bring momentary warmth to your breast, but as your erstwhile governor can surely attest, such vengeful cries are not, in the end, a winning habit. As it is you only prove our point. As readers of this site well know, YF takes in events both positive and not so with the equanimity of a Nepalese monk. It is our wont, a worldview, shall we say, born of a lifetime of success and inner peace. These things, we understand, you know not. And so forth with the attacks you sally. Compare, for example, the self-righteous indignation with which RSN attacked poor Manny and the bemused indifference with which fans of that team from the Bronx greeted Our Dear Sheff's most recent folly. It is sad. Truly sad. You have our sympathies.

YF proves once again he's the finest, smoothest, and most eloquent fiction writer this site has to offer.
