The Yanks acquired Matt Lawton from the Cubs last night for 43rd round draft choice Justin Berg. Rumor is he's in right this afternoon and batting 8th; Scott Proctor has been demoted (we assume he'll be back shortly). This was not the centerfield solution we'd been hoping for, but it does add some flexibility to an attrocious bench. Lawton gets on base at a reasonable clip, has a bit of power, and a bit of speed. Berg was not one of the jewels of the organization. Initial props to Cash.

the yankees shouldn't have allowed 7 runs to the royals in the first place, you say? i don't care...that win was sweet!
