Dear Mr. Timlin:
I'm over.
Love,
Your career.
P.S. Stay away from the microphones on your way out of the clubhouse, I want people to remember me fondly.

On the upside, now that Timlin stinks, I can stop ignoring the fact that he's a rightwing nutjob. The heck with him and his politics!

I have a theory: Timlin has begun to have his doubts about the Bush administration and the cognitive dissonance is too much for him. I have long imagined him training his rifle-scope eyes at a batter saying "f-ing liberal, I own you". Now he's thinking, "maybe the f-ing liberal's got a point. Damn."

Actually, Timlin hunts liberals with a bow and arrow because he finds that death by rifle is too quick and painless. Relatively speaking.

Sox are riding the pain train and the next stop is humiliation station!

I thought the train already stopped at Humiliation Station, or did you miss last weekend?

The line finally came to me:
"STICK A FOULKE IN TIMLIN, HE'S DONE"
Not terribly original. But apt.

One more, paraphrasing Eminem:
You're old,
let go,
it's over.
No one listens to Tito!

Mike Timlin, in the game just prior to his trip to the DL this year, threw 12 pitches in two innings of work, a game in which he set down 6 hitters in a row...quickly. I believe his ERA at that time was 1.47 or something equally ridiculous like that.
Whatever caused Timlin's trip to the DL, is most likely still bothering him, and has all along, and it's something that needs either rest or surgery...
In any case, pretty shortly he will be getting more rest from pitching than he has in a while.
