The Yankees look for the short series sweep of the Rangers tonight as Andy Pettitte takes the mound for the Bombers. In his last start, Andy had a rough go against Boston, giving up 5 runs while taking the loss in four and two-thirds. Robinson Tejeda brings a three-game winning streak to the bump for Texas. Johnny Damon is back in the lineup tonight; in fact, the lineup is completely intact, something that we wish we could even hint at for the pitching staff. Pleas to allow Andy to throw from behind a pitching L were denied; here's hoping for big money/no whammies from Pettitte and for the bats to stay as hot as they were last night in the Greek Tragedy that was Phil Hughes' game while we root for New York to pull off back-to-back wins for the first time in two weeks. Lineups in the extended, comment away.
Update: Postponed, double header tomorrow. .. I honestly thought that they were leaving Texas tonight to go back to NY for the game against Seattle Friday. These days are going by fast enough without me forgetting a whole day of the week. At least I have another full day to forget to take out the trash.

Yeah, they're definitely not playing. It's an absolute DOWNPOUR in Texas, and there's even a tornado watch.
Jesus, the Yankees are going to have a hell of a lot of doubleheaders this year.

You're right, Andrew; the radar looks vicious. Hopefully they will get it in.

Ya, I hope they get it in, maybe using some of that momentum from yesterday. If there is such a thing..

Jeez, this means a doubleheader tomorrow I just realized. Pettitte and Mussina, quite a duo. I guess that means Damon will probably sit a game, and Posada will catch the day game, and Mo better pitch an inning tomorrow because he's dangerously close to being rusty again.

Yep, postponed, Pete Abraham confirms it.
Guess what, I have a birthday doubleheader tomorrow! Yankees better sweep for me.

Game called. Let's do it Ernie's way tomorrow.

Happy birthday to (andr)You, etc.
Have a great time! Hope you bring some luck to the crew with your agedness. ;)

Doubleheader...tough break. Probably not the best thing in the world for a tired bullpen.

Well, they're not tired anymore. But they will be, barring excellent outings from Pettitte and Moose.
Thanks Gerb! I'll most likely be staying in, though, I'm on summer break earlier than all my friends. My school got done April 27th, which is still really weird to think about.

Will Moose be on a pitch count?
Hopefully the Yanks hitters stay fresh. C'mon Abreu, be the .300 hitter, and not the bunter!
