“The Yankees are America’s team,” Hank Steinbrenner once told me. “To put it bluntly, nobody outside of Missouri gives a crap if the St. Louis Cardinals or the Kansas City Royals are in the World Series.
And everyone wonders where Yankee rooters get their reputation for arrogance. What an a**hole.

More to the point, that is a very interesting article. If there is a God, and s/he's a Sox fan, I think Hank Steinbrenner will be taking over the Yankees and also mandating control over roster decisions. Jimmy Dolan redux!
