Morgan Ensberg Is No Scott Sanderson
As reported over at LoHud by Peter Abraham, Morgan Ensberg will wear #21 for the Yankees this season. Ensberg will be just the second player to wear the number since Scott Sanderson left the Yankees after the 1992 season. Sanderson only played for the Yankees for two short seasons, but his overall performance in 1991 was simply magnificent. Posting an ERA of 3.81, with 16 wins, 10 losses and 2 complete games Sanderson was an instant Yankee legend. Sanderson represented the Yankees in the All Star game that season, but sadly he never got to throw a single pitch in that game. In 1992, his last season with the team, he did not fair nearly as well posting a record of 12-11 and a 4.93 ERA. He was granted free agency by the Yankees after the 1992 season and promptly signed on with the Angels. He bounced around to a few teams before being released in 1996 by the Angels. Sadly he would go on and retire. Sanderson was never quite able to regain that magic he possessed during the '91 season. Fortunately for Yankee fans we will always have our memories of that magical season and all that #21 gave us. Good luck Morgan, those are some big shoes.

In doing my research I learned that Sanderson is an agent now. One of his clients is Lance Berkman.

I did some research on him too. I guess he has a bunch of big name players that he represents. I always knew he was really well thought of and, I think, served on some Players union committees. I watched him with the Cubs. Should have one a lot more games. Had a bunch of ND that he should have won. Easily could have been in the All-Star game 4 or 5 times. Check the stats. GO YANKS!!!
