Mark Feinsand reports that if Pettitte's bullpen session tomorrow goes well, he'll pitch a minor-league game Saturday, which means the first seven games will likely go like this:
Monday: Wang vs. Toronto
Wednesday: Mussina vs. Toronto
Thursday: Pettitte or Hughes vs. Toronto
Friday: Pettitte or Hughes vs. Tampa Bay
Saturday: Kennedy vs. Tampa Bay
Sunday: Wang vs. Tampa Bay
Monday: Mussina vs. Tampa Bay
A couple of other nuggets about the finals roster spots can be found in his post as well.
Pete Abraham tells that the Yankees players will wear commemorative stadium patches on their left sleeves of home and away jerseys this year, with the all-star game patch on the right sleeve. No word where the Mohegan Sun casino patch will go on what is getting to be a fairly crowded jersey.
The NY Post online wasted no time to point out that by Boston winning, the Yankees are now in second place. Who wants to wager that George King will have an article in the paper by tomorrow morning blaming A-Rod for the Yankee 1/2 game deficit and calling for a trade?

Laughed out loud at this one.
I thought about this, too. It's kinda neat. If the Sox win tomorrow, they'll have a 1-game lead in the AL East. I know it all evens out, but it feels like a head start. Kinda cool.

The Post should have written "Red Sox Win: Yanks Tied For Last" .. more in keeping with their style.

Technically the Yanks aren't tied for last, because Oakland lost.. haha..
If the Sox had lost, I was going to snark with "they have the worst record in the majors!" but they won so I was quiet about it.. ;)

However, if the Sox lose tomorrow, they and Oakland will technically be tied for last place in all of baseball. It's the loss column that counts.

Also, here are some excerpts of Jose's new book:

Careful, it's filled with profanity. Canseco basically proves to the world that all he has on A-Rod is a profound amount of jealousy. Quite a sad story from a sad man.

"Canseco initially was to collaborate with former Sports Illustrated associate editor Don Yaeger on "Vindicated" but Yaeger passed on the project, telling the Daily News in January that Canseco didn't have enough goods on Rodriguez."
"I had a chance to review the Jose Canseco [material] that he provided me. I don't think there's a book there," Yaeger told the newspaper. "I don't think he's got what he claims to have, certainly doesn't have what he claims to have on A-Rod."

Aren't the Yankees tied for the Wild Card?
