Boston's world tour continues as the team travels to the Great White North, facing the Blue Jays at Rogers Centre tonight in the first of a three-game set. Tim Wakefield looks to build on the two-game win streak carried out of Oakland as he takes the mound to face the Jays, who were stung by losing two of three in the Bronx despite excellent performances from their pitching staff. In his two starts against Boston in 07, Marcum allowed five earned runs over 11 innings. Wake was 3-2 with a 3.38 ERA against the Jays last season.
Lineups to follow. Comment away.

Man. I love a dome with Wake on the mound
Posted by: Dionysus | Friday, April 04, 2008 at 07:13 PM
What was that crap? I realize it's their home opener, but this is baseball, not hockey. I guess they just can't get it out of their blood up there.

Posted by: LocklandSF | Friday, April 04, 2008 at 07:32 PM
And Mosiac has issues AGAIN.
This is ridiculous
Posted by: Dionysus | Friday, April 04, 2008 at 07:32 PM
Oh hell Wake.
It sure was gritty how Eck got himself hit by the wild Knucler
Posted by: Dionysus | Friday, April 04, 2008 at 07:33 PM
Grit boy turned into the pitch.
Posted by: I'mBillMcNeal | Friday, April 04, 2008 at 07:35 PM
Lil' David willed that baseball to hit him, didn't he.
Posted by: yankeemonkey | Friday, April 04, 2008 at 07:37 PM
Of cours ym.
Wake's knuckler is all over the place tonight.
Posted by: Dionysus | Friday, April 04, 2008 at 07:37 PM
Don't mock me, YM. Don't do it.
Posted by: I'mBillMcNeal | Friday, April 04, 2008 at 07:38 PM
OMG

OOOOH-K!!!
Posted by: I'mBillMcNeal | Friday, April 04, 2008 at 07:39 PM
Why not? I'm bored and lonely over in the Yanks/Fish thread.
Posted by: yankeemonkey | Friday, April 04, 2008 at 07:39 PM
GOT HIM! Wow... great comeback by Timmay
Posted by: Dionysus | Friday, April 04, 2008 at 07:39 PM
I would be with you there too YM, but Mosiac is having issues again, so I can only watch ONE game at a time. Woe is me
Posted by: Dionysus | Friday, April 04, 2008 at 07:40 PM
's OK, you're not subjected to watching Ian go to 3-1, 3-2 on every freakin' batter.
Posted by: yankeemonkey | Friday, April 04, 2008 at 07:42 PM
CHRIST. Two outs on four pitches? I'm outta here. Back to work for me
Posted by: Dionysus | Friday, April 04, 2008 at 07:42 PM
7 pitches; that half-inning lasted what, 94 seconds?
Posted by: I'mBillMcNeal | Friday, April 04, 2008 at 07:45 PM
When's Igawa pitch? He's my favorite.
Posted by: I'mBillMcNeal | Friday, April 04, 2008 at 07:52 PM
You'd better have season tickets to Scranton to see him, Bill.
Posted by: yankeemonkey | Friday, April 04, 2008 at 07:54 PM
Kevin Cash with one of his 12 hits on the season.
Posted by: I'mBillMcNeal | Friday, April 04, 2008 at 07:57 PM
right on. collectively the sox have seen 12 pitches through 4 innings. give marcum the CYA right now.
Posted by: sf rod | Friday, April 04, 2008 at 08:08 PM
Tampa 6 Yanks 0 heading to bottom 3rd. Kennedy didnt make it out of the third.
Posted by: TJ | Friday, April 04, 2008 at 08:16 PM
Drew has seen six pitches and has struck out twice.
Posted by: I'mBillMcNeal | Friday, April 04, 2008 at 08:19 PM
We've got 'em right where we want 'em ;-)
Posted by: yankeemonkey | Friday, April 04, 2008 at 08:19 PM
Hmmm. These Jays could prove to be annoying this season.
Posted by: yankeemonkey | Friday, April 04, 2008 at 08:22 PM
game over.
Posted by: sf rod | Friday, April 04, 2008 at 08:33 PM
Pfft. Have some faith, people!
Posted by: yankeemonkey | Friday, April 04, 2008 at 08:34 PM
Tigers now 0-4.
Posted by: I'mBillMcNeal | Friday, April 04, 2008 at 08:36 PM
Amazing, isn't it, Bill? So much for all that "best team, 1000 runs, etc" talk. Of course, nothing will prevent them from running off 5-6 wins i a row, but still.
Posted by: yankeemonkey | Friday, April 04, 2008 at 08:39 PM
Yes, with losses to KC and a not so bad WS team.
Posted by: I'mBillMcNeal | Friday, April 04, 2008 at 08:40 PM
What's the "injury delay" in the Sox-Jays?
Posted by: yankeemonkey | Friday, April 04, 2008 at 08:42 PM
Pedroia stubbed his foot into the base on a pickoff attempt. Hes fine though
Posted by: TJ | Friday, April 04, 2008 at 08:45 PM
it just gets sweeter.
make mine a double!
Posted by: sf rod | Friday, April 04, 2008 at 08:46 PM
marcum @ 60 through 6.
if the 1 run lead felt like 10, the 3 run lead feels like 1000.
Posted by: sf rod | Friday, April 04, 2008 at 08:51 PM
I just realized something: Eckstein and Pedroia playing in the same game. The grit quotient is off the charts!
Posted by: yankeemonkey | Friday, April 04, 2008 at 08:54 PM
I love you Ellsbury, bur Coco would have had it.
Posted by: Pocono Sox | Friday, April 04, 2008 at 08:57 PM
a walk and a cheapie almost feels like an inning......but here comes drew who has seen 6 pitches and struck out twice. grrrrrrr.
Posted by: sf rod | Friday, April 04, 2008 at 09:01 PM
JD earns the paycheck
Posted by: Pocono Sox | Friday, April 04, 2008 at 09:03 PM
Drew with a 3 run shot
Posted by: TJ | Friday, April 04, 2008 at 09:03 PM
i have never seen someone look so bad on one pitch and then hit the very next one a mile. that's just drew i guess. just odd. to steal this one would be golden.
Posted by: sf rod | Friday, April 04, 2008 at 09:03 PM
Eckstein up, hold your breath
Posted by: Pocono Sox | Friday, April 04, 2008 at 09:05 PM
Hey, that was a legitimately scrappy AB by Eck. Gah, I can't believe I just said that.
Posted by: yankeemonkey | Friday, April 04, 2008 at 09:15 PM
So I'm at work, check on the game:
"Hey, the Sox tied it!"
"Hey Javier Lopez didn't do his job!"
Hey, Manny Delcarmen is really manning up with runners on!"
"F***."
Posted by: Paul SF | Friday, April 04, 2008 at 09:24 PM
coco unable to showcase himself.
Posted by: sf rod | Friday, April 04, 2008 at 09:26 PM
just be grateful you haven't had to watch it paul. it's been draining.
Posted by: sf rod | Friday, April 04, 2008 at 09:28 PM
Shoulda let Cash and his .500/.500/1.000 line hit instead of Tek.
Posted by: Paul SF | Friday, April 04, 2008 at 09:29 PM
13-4 Tampa in the Bronx
Posted by: TJ | Friday, April 04, 2008 at 09:52 PM
what's the delay?
Posted by: yankeemonkey | Friday, April 04, 2008 at 09:54 PM
two idiots running across the field, they tackled the guy and grabbed the girl
Posted by: TJ | Friday, April 04, 2008 at 09:59 PM
dumbasses. why do people insist on doing that?
Posted by: yankeemonkey | Friday, April 04, 2008 at 10:01 PM
It's a loss, sure. One of numerous to come, I'm sure, but I'll say this one thing.
Javier Lopez better not be on this goddamn roster upon Timlin and Beckett's return. I'm fraking serious. I'd use the actual F-word except Im not sure on the sites policy on that
Posted by: Dionysus | Saturday, April 05, 2008 at 12:18 AM
Maybe they were trying to re-enact that movie with Jimmy Fallon. I can't remember the name right now..
Posted by: Lar | Saturday, April 05, 2008 at 02:32 AM
"damn yankees" ?
Posted by: dc | Saturday, April 05, 2008 at 08:06 AM
Fever Pitch
Posted by: TJ | Saturday, April 05, 2008 at 10:00 AM
That game sucked. Interestingly enough, when a game is on TV and fans run on the field the cameras aren't allowed to show it (in order to keep people from doing it more often). I was watching on mlb.tv last night and they switched to a camera that WAS showing them! Pretty exciting.
Except for the fact that Accardo owned us once the delay was over.
