How's the Globe's farm system looking though? I thought they had a kid down there who could hit 98 WPM, with insight.

Seriously, though, this is sad news. I don't have ready access to the Globe anymore (the print version anyway), but I did consider it to have the most complete and well-rounded sports section I'd encountered. It was almost always a good read every day, and twice on Sunday. A paper like that will be able to find new talent to re-stock their pages, or the industry really is in trouble.

I'm not even going to comment on the dying breed of good sportswriters at the Globe (and the Herald.)

I'm too sad for Bryan Corey. That really sucks. Its not like he's a horrible pitcher by any means. He could replace half the 5-ERA shit middle relievers in the league. I don't get it :\
