come on, YFs, let's hear the disdain for Melky, posing and looking at his homer.

Right. Crickets.

Melky being Manny! Swing looked like him, too.

And Wang being Wang, through 5. Come on SFs, let's hear some disdain for Wanger, the luck god.

Right. Crickets.

Captain with the deuce.

"let's hear some disdain for Wanger, the luck god."

Dude, that is so 2005-6.

Bobby moves Jeter to 3rd. Come on Alex, just send the ball to the outfield.

Wow, Michael Kay is such an idiot. He keeps saying Wang was the runner-up for the Cy Young last year, when in fact it was Josh Beckett. When some guy brought that to his attention, he surmised Wang must have been third, when in fact I think he was not even in the top 10.

Meanwhile, what an excellent outing for Wang. He's been inefficient, but he's becoming an even better pitcher than he's been in years past. That is scary.

Wang received no votes at all for the 2007 CY.

Indians with slick leather to end the Yankee 9th.

Mo is dealing. Garko is incredulous that a strike at the knees is a strike. Down looking. Two away to Peralta.

Peralta down looking to end the game, Yanks 1, Tribe 0.

Peralta fouls off a bunch of 2-2s, then sits down looking to end the game. Yankees 1, Tribe 0.

What a great line by both pitchers. Wish I could have watched the whole thing.

Melky is now tied with Giambi at 5 HRs to lead the Bombers. Bizarre.

They finally won a game...and on my birthday! THANK GOD!!! They still look like crap though...

what a game!!!!!! Damn is CC scary. Wang isn't, but you suddenly realize he's just struck you out.

No way CC isn't a Yankee next year if Cleveland doesn't lock him up...especially after Hank fires Cash after this season!

It's wierd Andrew, mlb.com's front-page story says "Wang lost the Cy Young last year to Sabathia, but won Sunday's meeting 1-0". Wang's a great pitcher, but like you said he received zero votes last year.

Idiots all over the place.

The thought of CC as a Yankee makes me sweat.

Great pitching duel yesterday - gotta love those.

I've been impressed with how good Wang's slider has been this year. The fact that he had worked on it in the off-season was well-known, but it has become a much more effective pitch for him than I expected. He threw a ton of them yesterday.

Yanks needed yesterday - losing 2 games in the 9th is tough to swallow and treading water behind Boston was annoying when Boston was having its own problems notching a W recently. Given the April schedule, being out of the division lead by 1.5 games is fine with me. Now get back above .500w ith a win tonight and COME HOME!
