Digging A Hole: Yanks-Tigers Gamer V

“I said this last week: I can’t wait till Sunday, till they’re gone. They’re going to unload on somebody, and I just hope it’s not us.” - Jim Leyland

Gosh I hope the "unloading" part is legit, but I don't know if I'm as confident as Leyland about what threat the Yankees truly pose right now when paired with the Yankee rotation as it stands. Speaking of unloading, last night Kei Igawa used a shovel in the shape of straight stuff (I want to use a different word than stuff) over the plate that the Tiger lineup had to work hard to miss to bury the Yankees just deeply enough that it made a late surge by the Bombers an exercise in frustration. That makes it all four contests dropped to the Tigers this year and three losses in the Yankees' last four games, who look to recent call-up Darrell Rasner to do his part in ending this ignominious streak while Detroit sends Jeremy Bonderman to the bump.

Saturday FOXball. Comment away.

The Yankees play is maddening...i guess we should win three in a row now, right???

Rasner is certainly impressing.

Man if rasner can keep this up for a bit and the other 3 keep the ball rolling, we would only need to get one of the big 3 on track for a nice rotation. That is admittedly alot of "ifs"....

I think it'll happen, Sam -- if for no other reason than the Yankees always seem to find a way to put tit together and make a run in August and September. Not sure how it happens, but it seems they always get a guy to step up and hold things together for the pennant race.
