So that's what it looks like when the Sox field a full lineup. With the starting nine bats all healthy for the first time since the first week of April, the Sox picked up Josh Beckett (who had an off day, and the Sox hope he can continue having such off days) slaughtered the Rays and go for the sweep today.
Jon Lester faces Scott Kazmir, who makes his 2008 debut and has generally been quite good against Boston. Here's hoping Lester doesn't have an off day, as well. With him, it'd more likely be eight runs in four innings instead of the other way around. Coco Crisp replaces Jacoby Ellsbury in the lineup, while Brandon Moss is unavailable following an emergency appendectomy last night.
Comment away!

"Here's hoping Lester doesn't have an off day, as well."
If looking as his season as a whole one could say his off day has been his better games so maybe we sghould hope for an off day :p

Ahh, I love afternoon baseball. Let's hope Kazmir is a little rusty, though I doubt it.
Awww, the kid announcing the Rays lineup is struggling a little bit. It's okay kid, relax!

Woah, Ortiz is out?
Posted by: Atheose | Sunday, May 04, 2008 at 01:44 PM
WHEW, glad Manny's DH'ing tonight cause Ellsbury barely makes the play in left. Lester out of trouble.
Posted by: Atheose | Sunday, May 04, 2008 at 01:53 PM
YES! Ellsbury showing off his speed again with the infield single.
Posted by: Atheose | Sunday, May 04, 2008 at 01:57 PM
Okay wtf, the video on mlb.tv just went out for 5 minutes, and then when it came back it's with the Tampa Bay announcers. Lame!

Giving up hits to Cap'n = rusty

Meanwhile, Silva is curing whatever ailed the Yankees bats......
Posted by: dabize | Sunday, May 04, 2008 at 02:29 PM
11 hits, 7 runs in 3 innings? Damn Silva.
GOD BLESS COCO!
Posted by: Atheose | Sunday, May 04, 2008 at 02:30 PM
And Boof is getting savaged by Detroit.
6 hits in the first 8 faced, and when he strikes out Pudge, he STILL gives up a run.
And we get to face them next......nice kitty......
Posted by: dabize | Sunday, May 04, 2008 at 02:33 PM
Speaking of the Yankees, ESPN are saying IPK has been sent down to the minors
Posted by: | Sunday, May 04, 2008 at 02:35 PM
Damn. Was hoping to get some insurance there. 1 run is not gonna cut it when our Pen comes in.
Posted by: Dionysus | Sunday, May 04, 2008 at 02:38 PM
Boof strikes out the side in order.....but gives up 6 runs first.
Hope he's still there for us bext weekend.

Posted by: Dionysus | Sunday, May 04, 2008 at 02:45 PM
Thank god he had a quiet innings, the way he was going Lester wouldn't have gone more than 4
Posted by: | Sunday, May 04, 2008 at 02:46 PM
Aw man Youk. Straighten that out just a little.
Posted by: Dionysus | Sunday, May 04, 2008 at 02:50 PM
Great!
Posted by: Dionysus | Sunday, May 04, 2008 at 02:51 PM
Manny JUST misses 497 on the wall ball double to score Youk
Posted by: Dionysus | Sunday, May 04, 2008 at 02:55 PM
Drew grounds out and we only get two thanks to Mikey and Tek struggling. Still.. 3 runs through three against KAZMIR? I'll take it. 72 pitches as well.
Posted by: Dionysus | Sunday, May 04, 2008 at 03:02 PM
1 more inning like that an Kazmir should be done, i cant see them letting through more than 100 pitches in his first game back
Posted by: Polf | Sunday, May 04, 2008 at 03:04 PM
Gah, Heidi Watney talking while actual baseball being played = painful.
Posted by: stuck working | Sunday, May 04, 2008 at 03:05 PM
At least she's nice to look at
Posted by: Polf | Sunday, May 04, 2008 at 03:11 PM
pfft Polf. Amalie Benjamin is better to look at.
Posted by: Dionysus | Sunday, May 04, 2008 at 03:24 PM

Is anyone anyone else watching on MLB.tv, I just wanted to know if they show the adverts in the US, between innings
Posted by: Polf | Sunday, May 04, 2008 at 03:32 PM
I'm on mlb.tv Polf, and they don't show any advertisements. I have no idea why--you'd think they'd make some nice coin doing that.
Homerun by Pena = lame.
Posted by: Atheose | Sunday, May 04, 2008 at 03:45 PM
Even if they change the game in progress screen to show a billboard type advert
Posted by: Polf | Sunday, May 04, 2008 at 03:51 PM
Sigh, crappy baserunning by Drew.
Posted by: Atheose | Sunday, May 04, 2008 at 03:57 PM
Sox should have more runs than they do, and now Manny Delcarmen's year of hell continues. This game is slipping away.
Thanks, MDC. What did you do in the offseason, take suck pills?
Posted by: SF | Sunday, May 04, 2008 at 04:13 PM

I was at the game, so I was unable to see how gorgeous Heidi Watney is. I did see that a woman was in the booth, but from the upper bleachers, I had to guess that it was Shonda talking about the evils of sunlight or something.
