Beckett not quite himself in this first inning.

Beckett looks terrible. Three batters, three balls lasered.

Just tuned in - I saw the score and thought, "It's Lester's day to pitch again already?"

Pedroia ties it with a solo homer. 2-2

ortiz follows with his own HR 3-2 Sox

PAPI goes back to back!!

Funny how they have this promotion where if your name is drawn and the Sox' third batter in the third inning hits a three-run homer, you get some sort of cumulating jackpot... That only happened once last year, in September. Pretty low-risk promotion for whoever's giving away the money...

back to back!

I thought Manny 499 when it left bat

Whats the 911 with that Watney reporter, I hear shes been get some stick from the west coast about why she left her last job

Im not sure how low risk it is. is the start off price the same as whats added on each game? If it was a set prize then yea it would be low risk, but as long as it happens atleast once there still giving away a lot of money, especially if again like last year the one time comes in September.

What is going on with Beckett and the f*cking dingers? It's like 2006 all over again. Where is 2007 Beckett?

Loaded, nobody out. Sure squander here! Guess who is coming up!

coming up after Coco, that is.

Take, Coco, take.

coco could hit into triple play

Take again, Coco, take again!

Gah, long at-bat from Crisp ends with a K. Now it's time for LFRS to strike again.

LFRS wildly swings at the first pitch, which is nowhere close. It is like he decides to swing no matter what the pitcher throws, it appears he has ZERO pitch recognition.

Lugo comes through with a walk

Did anyone see that? Did Lugo do something stupid or was that a base coach's mistake?

radio guy jined Ellsburys SB streak :@:@:@

Elbsbury with a 2 RBI single, Lugo strikes again getting hung up between 2nd and 3rd

another Papi HR 8-4 Sox

And to think we were worried about Papi a few weeks ago...

2nd home run of the day by Papi

Papi!

What a day for Ortiz.

Sox have hit a three-run homer with zero out in the third three times since the beginning of the 2003 season. This assumes of course it's not later in the inning after a couple RBI singles or something. In 2005, the Sox hit a homer in the third with none out 14 times, which is a LOT. Most years it's only been four or five all year.

What is up with Beckett and the homers??

Is Beckett having a competition with Santana who can give the most homers and still win

is it the wind today? I hope???

Wow, four home runs allowed now. Second four-homer game of his career; the other came in '06... Yuck. The sad thing is he's been pitching well other than that (har).

Beckett looks really bad, total 2006 redux - good stuff, then a fat POS hanging right over the plate. He's getting absolutely tagged. And as I type another one from Fielder. Four on the day.

Maybe Josh and Farrell should watch some tape...maybe cue up some '07 games and '06 games and see what the f*ck is up? Because SOMETHING is up.

Fielder makes it 4 HR's of Beckett

So the Sox have scored at least eight, and they still are in a dogfight at home with BECKETT on the mound. Lame.

I was hoping that all the recent talk about DiceK being the Sox's ace this year might have goaded Bex into showing us something special today... No such luck.

Still a two-run lead... Unfortunately we know what that's worth in the late innings with Boston of late.

Is it just me or does everyone else fear the worst when a moderately hard short a long the ground goes to Lugo

That should have been 'shot'

Now a three-run lead. Still nervous, with this 'pen.

Meanwhile, the Celts have piled up a 10-point lead halfway through the 1st Quarter... Maybe that's why it's so quiet here.

Youk with a HR, that 4 each now

MDC in to make sure the game is closer or, worse, a disaster.

MDC only give up 1 run, which is a bonus

11-7 final, Paps in for the save
