Here's hoping Colon doesn't totally suck the way he has in his last two games: 10 runs in 11 innings. Though as long as his velocity is up in the mid 90's I think he'll be okay.

Gary Thorne just said "Pahk the cah" in a Boston accent. Bleh, looks like the mute button will be used often tonight.

1-2-3 inning for Colon, 15 pitches. Good start.

Ellsbury gets behind 0-2 in the count, then drives a single up the middle! Yeah baby!

Let's test Hernandez' arm.

YEaH, Ellsbury was stealing 2nd and the pitcher turned to pick him off, and threw the ball over Millar's head. And he almost scored!

Drew hits a chopper down the 1st-baseline for a double. Wow, when you're hot everything seems to fall in.

Drew scores on a wild pitch! 2-0 Sox.

Varitek tattoos one over the Monster! 5-0 Sox.

I miss all the fun. I was just settling in to listen to the game at my desk and the guy down the hall just HAD to talk about warranty pricing. The first inning looked like quite the party.

This game is starting out much better than yesterday's.

I am feeling guilty for how nauseous I felt when I heard Colon was pitching tonight. Isn't this short rest for him?

Nope I think he's on 4 days rest RBF. And he's doing great so far; 45 pitches through 3, with 4 K's.

Yeah Colon last pitched on the 6th, 5 days ago.

Bart takes one off the pitching wrist.
D'oh!

I am really beginning to despise Luke Scott.

After the first inning Olsen has cruised, needing only 58 pitches in the last 4 innings.

Colon's two-seamer is looking fantastic tonight, he's gotten most of his strikeouts off of it.

7 K's through 6ip for Colon, 93 pitches. Hopefully he'll be out for the 7th, though Francona has kept him on a short leash this season.

Wow, Timlin is making this a game. Awful.

As much as I love Timlin, I think this is the year he is finally done. Even though Pedroia's error extended the inning, that's just karma catching up to Timlin for getting lucky with the liner hit right at Youkilis.

Not a single soft-hit ball in that inning against Timlin. So here's Papelbon with a sudden save opportunity after the Sox started the inning up 6-1. Not what you want to see.

And, the game. Yeesh. Way more tension then was necessary there.

And just in time for the cooking contest! On to Top Chef!

If Colon went down right now with an injury and never threw another pitch for the Red Sox, it would still be the steal of the season.

It must be nice to win games. Lucky bastards!
