Fastball on the away black edge has Drew frozen looking for the second out. That was a good pitch.

Manny: first pitch swinging?
Posted by: SF | Friday, June 20, 2008 at 11:13 PM
Lowell has been sh*t lately, they can be careful with Manny I would think - he can't score on an EBH either.

They are pitching around Manny.
Remy comes in with the stat that Manny has only swung at one 3-0 pitch all season. Doesn't share the result of that swing, but still, good info.

Not pitching to Manny. OK, Mikey.

Manny walks.
Drama.

Lowell coming up as the winning run, Manny walks.

YES!!!

Franklin's been staying away from the rightys.

Single. 5-4. Manny can score on a WP or PB now, as he ran hard to third.

Nice single by Lowell. Quality hitting to hit a slider hung over the plate up the middle as Manny makes it to third while Dusty scores. Drama indeed.

Oof. Sorry SF, IBM.

Too many missed opportunities tonight. Obviously.

Yooks was a little too impatient, there. Damn.

Ah, well. At least we keep the lead the same. Thanks for stay up, AG.

Youk pops out. Two more stranded, seems appropriate.
Crap game, the Sox need to play a lot better than that.
G'night all.

Not sure what Youk was looking for there - that wasn't a "line drive ties it up swing", it was an "I'm going to drive it off the base of the wall the other way even though I can't hit it that far" kind of swing.
The Sox can only blame themselves tonight, they did WAY too many things wrong, giving the Cards extra outs, Oki gave away an insurance run to a terrible hitter, stranded men, double plays. Textbook bad baseball from our squad. Really fun to watch.

My pleasure (for the baseball, not the schadenfreude). It's still only 8:25 on the left coast. Nice to see the umps jobbing the Sox similarly to the way they were the Yanks tonight. AWFUL strike zones.
