What is it about the Boston Red Sox that makes the Mariners forget they are a really bad team? Three of their last four wins have come against Boston; Seattle has twelve losses over that span. Miguel Batista went seven innings in his last outing against Boston and got a no-decision though Seattle eventually won the game. Tim Wakefield allowed only one run his last start against the Mariners, but it was one too many in a one-nothing game that saw three M's combine to two-hit the Sox.
It's the Fox game. Lineups follow, comment away.

In defiance of his barking hammy Manny hits another one of the park. 2-0 Sox.

Out of the park, I mean ...

Here comes the Wake shitshow...

Hate when I am right.
Impossible to watch this guy pitch.
Posted by: SF | Saturday, June 07, 2008 at 04:32 PM
Crisp, Lugo, Cash, and Cora all in the lineup.

Normally I don't like the sac bunt with nobody out and a runner on second in the third inning, but it was LFRS, and the odds were that he would have done something that would have ended the inning, however impossible that would have been.
Now Drew does nothing and suddenly there are two outs and Crisp is still at third.
The Red Sox are making me so angry as of late, my patience is so thin with them.

Pettite gives up 10 runs in 6.2 innings! But no lead is safe with Royals pitching. 10-10 after 8 in the Bronx.

Not bagging on Drew, he hit a line drive right to someone, just expressing situational frustration.
Posted by: SF | Saturday, June 07, 2008 at 04:42 PM
Manny walked, Casey at the bat.
Posted by: SF | Saturday, June 07, 2008 at 04:43 PM
Casey pops out. Shit baseball. Utter shit baseball.

It is utterly miraculous that the Yankees are so close to first place considering what they have been through this first third of the season.

The Red Sox won't win a lot of games fielding lineups like this, what are we to expect? This is the lineup of a non-contender, for sure. Luckily it's an anomaly. I hope.
Get well, injured players!

You know what sucks? Scoring 11 on the road in Yankee Stadium, getting run/s off Mariano Rivera, and still probably losing.

God Bless Coco!
(an agnostic, I still need to fill in for Atheose!)
4-2 Sox on a single, scoring Cora.

cora and cash create a run. love unexpected sources...and we're gonna need them.
Posted by: sf rod | Saturday, June 07, 2008 at 05:02 PM
Yanks win 12-11. Probably another turning point in their season. With so many turns hopefully they'll go in circles.
Posted by: pale blue eyes | Saturday, June 07, 2008 at 05:05 PM
Drew hits one on the screws, right at someone. Again. Tough luck.
Posted by: SF | Saturday, June 07, 2008 at 05:07 PM
Youk flies out. With Manny still out on the bases, is he allowed to throw any equipment around?
Posted by: pale blue eyes | Saturday, June 07, 2008 at 05:24 PM
moss has seen 8 consecutive balls from batista. time for dickey.
i meant cora and moss on my above manufactured run post. sorry to slight brandon.

Wake through six now, he's done another fine job, it's just a shame that my stomach is so weak that I have to watch him pitch through a series of intertwined fingers.

JD dinger!
Man, is he locked in right now.
Posted by: SF | Saturday, June 07, 2008 at 05:42 PM
drew finally gets rewarded for hitting the ball hard all nite (all month).
Posted by: sf rod | Saturday, June 07, 2008 at 05:43 PM
9-2. Well-deserved run-support for Wake. Pretty good coming from such a depleted line-up. We don't want Barry.

youk got an error :(
