Bits And Pieces

Will Leitch writes in New York Magazine that Jorge Posada is now just another Yankees albatross.

GREAT, Part II, by Joe Posnanski is worth a few minutes of your day.

Steve Goldman, in Baseball Prospectus: "In the recently concluded A’s series, somehow a sweep for the Yankees, it seemed as if they were being gunned down at home, batter after batter. I was curious if this was real or just an impression."

To go along with the reports of interest in Subway Jarrod, George King writes that the Yankees may be interested in D. Lowe and B. Fuentes.
Update: More names from Ken Rosenthal: A.J. Burnett, Bronson Arroyo

This Will Leitch in New York thing will be interesting. He's from Southern Illinois (a part of the world we in Chi-town call Downstate), is a big Cardinals fan and enjoyed mocking the Northeast on Deadspin.

Hmmm. I think the last time I heard anyone refer to Chicago as "Chi-town" was C.W. McCall in the 1975, um, hit song, "Convoy."
