Richie Sexson makes his first appearance in pinstripes tonight at The Stadium. The recent pickup will be hitting in the five slot against lefty rookie starter Greg Smith, whom neither he nor the Yankees have faced. Smith is coming off a six-inning, four-hit, no-run performance against Seattle eight days ago; Sexson had already been released.
Mike Mussina gets the ball for the Yankees. Last time out, Moose had a somewhat serviceable start for a no-decision against the Pirates in a game that the Yanks lost.
