ANNOUNCEMENT

YFSF sadly must announce that SF has been suspended from posting at this site. Yesterday, with an enormous series between the rivals on which this site is focused, SF begged out of posting. Despite MRIs on both wrists and hands (ordered at the direction of a very terse YF), indicating a certain ability to type, SF indicated he would not be available for commenting and/or posting. And, despite this supposed claim of ill-health, SF was later seen on Friday chunking a three-iron into a grove of maple trees, rendering his claim of aches and pains hollow.

To that end, Ownership has suspended SF from posting at this site and is currently pursuing solutions to this situation as allowed by the site's CBA while placing the petulant scribe under suspension. Rumors swirl that SF can be had for a mere Mariners fan and a Royals fan to be named later, as the albatross of his contract prevents fair return.

More on this as it develops.

One: stat "geeks" already know how Manny's OPS has been trending. That's why we're stat geeks. And we knew it long before today.

Two: why pick a pedestrian additive stat like OPS to pander to a segment of your audience while insulting them at the same time by calling them geeks?

Three: Manny's OPS this season is not _that_ far off his career pace; .932 vs. a career of .999. Who else in the AL has an OPS of .932 or better this season? Bradley, ARod, Drew and Dye. That's it. And if you throw out his lousy May, he's been KILLING.

Just go back to hating stat geeks outright. We'll all be better off.

I thought every year Manny had some kind of "time-share" (a trip to "Island de Manuel" on the lovely Red Sox dugout) that resulted in a few days of "injuries."
By the way. As an aside for Sox fans. Don't you find it interesting that Manny's assault earlier this month was allowed to leak out?
Even the Rangers, who DFAd Ponson didn't leak out that he was drunk and naked and accidently broke/jammed Michael Young's finger in the showers.

Shaughnessy's other article about SF is even more scathing! It really does look like he's not coming back this time. Rumor is that Paul slapped him in the computer lab after he flooded the toilets again. SF being SF isn't as cute as it once was.

I have a friend who is a very good golfer, and happens to have employment he can can perform to some extent while on the course. He's got a great line he uses while chatting away with some place far away making things happen. He'll be doing his shtick, then says, "Well, gotta run.. I'm stepping into something." Then he takes his shot. It's pretty hilarious, and only slightly annoying. Mostly hilarious. I'm jealous of the bastard.

Yes. On two holes. I also birdied three par-5s over the two days. And, two particularly bad holes added up to the number of errors that LFRS has made this season. I am quite the erratic amateur. I picked the right two days to be away from technology and baseball, now if only I could schedule a round for about 8pm tomorrow...
