The Ballad of Alex and Madonna

The New Yorker's been getting a bit of flack this week. Some folks out there seem to miss the humor of their latest cover. But I don't think anyone will fail to appreciate the utter genius of our pal Ben Greenman's A-Rod! Fragments of a Musical, even if we think it might play better as opera. (Italian translation, anyone?) A sample:

MADONNA:
Remember when I dressed up
As Marilyn Monroe?
If you play your cards right
You can be DiMaggio
You know that heady feeling
When you hit a shot into the gap?
You can tell me all about it
When I shift and settle on your lap

A-ROD:
I get it
You’re Madonna
You enjoy
Double entendre

Also not to miss, and completely unrelated, Alex Belth's wonderful SI piece on the Stadium (look for our appearance on p. 2). Yeah, we said The Stadium.
