Wakefield on the mound for the Sox... today would be a HORRIBLE day for his awesome-streak to end.

Bobby Meacham strikes again.

After considerable thought, I've decided the "loss column" theory is a fraud. The only relevance it has is for teams within maybe 1.5 games of each other in the last week of the season. But right now, when both teams have 60 games left? Big deal. The Sox are five ahead in the win column; I fail to see how that is any less relevant than the standings in the loss column.

"But right now, when both teams have 60 games left?"

But the Yanks have played two fewer games.

and we know the Yanks will win those two games.

Wow, the world is ending apparently. Before the game John Kruck GUARANTEED that Giambi would hit a homerun against Du-----erer. I was thinking "What, the major-league leader in ERA will give up a homerun? You're an idiot, Kruck." Sure enough, he did.

Im gunna go reevaluate my life now.

What an amazing outing for Pettitte: 8ip, 9K's. Mo out to make up for blowing the lead yesterday.

TBS Announcer: "Well Papelbon got 'New-Yorked' in that his comments were taken out of context. He said that he wanted to be proud enough and good enough to close the All-Star game, but that of course Rivera deserves it."

Finally, somebody with a little bit of intelligence and reason.

Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww wow that was a wierd play:

Man on first, Abreu drops a fly ball in right field. He quickly throws the ball in though, and gets the runner out at 2nd.

Runner called out at 2nd, replays show him safe. It was bang-bang though, so not a big deal. Yanks win, Rays down 4-6 in the 5th.

[footsteps...]

Paul - both ways are valid. In the end, everyone will play the same amount of games, so it's just conventions. Meh.

Yanks win again, but probably need to do a little more hitting. Sure, it's the league leader in ERA, but you can't keep saying that because there are a lot of good pitchers in the league.. got to beat up on someone!

Atheose, Kruk made the prediction based on Giambi's crazy career numbers against Duscherererererer. He was 5-7 with 3HRs. Now, he's 6-8 with 4HRs.
