crap

:)

Come on, IBM. Not polite at all, or sportsmanlike. Nobody should smile at injuries like this to good young players, no matter the uniform.

from Pete Abe:

Will Carroll made an interesting point, saying that Andrews is known for conservative treatment. That could be a sign it’s not a devastating injury.

This is from the "everything is good for John McCain" school of analysis. How is going to see Andrews a GOOD thing all of a sudden? Can someone enlighten me?

I don't think anything can be read into it. Even if an MRI showed absolutely nothing wrong to the Yankees medical staff I can see them being so ultra conservative with The Hutt that he is sent off for a 2nd/3rd/4th opinion just in case.

Obviously it _could_ mean something is seriously wrong, but it doesn't mean that there is.

I hate watching Joba dominate for the Yanks, but I hate to see *anyone* suffer a serious injury, so hopefully he's okay. I've seen enough devastating Red Sox injuries over the years to know how much it sucks (and we haven't exactly been unscathed this year).

Honestly, this doesn't look very good to me. Of course it might not be anything serious, but the fact that he's actually going to see Dr. Andrews says they found something to me - if the MRI had been totally clean, I think they'd have just said "eh, he'll miss his next start and that's all". I don't think there's any reason to assume the season is lost, but I think it's likely he'll be missing more than just the one.

Joba is gonna be done for the year, i can guess that much. No point in risking his long term health to attempt to salvage a what is turning out to be a mess of a season. Hopefully, he will be fine to get it going next year. This is very disappointing to me as I felt that the yanks were about to put together a good run to challenge for the wild card spot. Thankfully, I dont begrudge the Rays and will be pulling for them once we are fully out of the picture. They have come together at the right time and are a fun team to watch...

I wonder if Joba is destined for Papelbondom, a reversal to the pen (though Paps made two switches). I wonder, does starting disagree with his long-term health prospects?

Preferably a rotund Brewer.

What? Prince Fielder isn't a pitcher!

Woah sorry about that, completely wrong thread. How the hell did that happen?

What did I say? WHAT? WHAT?
A couple of punctuation buttons got stuck.
There was an earthquake, a flood, I had a flat tire.
It's NOT MY FAULT!!!!

No, no, no.
I apologize, regardless of perception of offense. That was inappropriate.
My thought at the time was that it helps us, not that it hurts NYY. Still, not appropriate.

Don't worry IBM. I'll be lurking with a few punctiations of my own when the Devil Rays clinch the division.
