Game in progress - Melky hits into DP (and Sterling screams into my ear, "5 times! 5 times in the last 11 innings they've had a runner at 3rd and less than 2 outs and failed to score!!!"). This time it was 1st and 3rd and no outs. Auspicious beginning, to be sure. Yankees on the verge of moving from conteneder to spoiler - and the Twins are one of four AL teams in front of them. Well at least the Mets bullpen imploded again today.
Comment away...

Two outs - then a walk, then a dinger given up to Adam Everet, who last hit a homerun when the Yankees scared other teams.

Just caught a glimpse of this game and noticed that the ad behind home plate is a PSA against drunk driving. Wonder if that distracted Ponson at all.

HAHAHA we used to make fun of the Stolichnaya Vodka ad behind Yankees Stadium whenever David Wells pitched.

I'm off to Vancouver in the morning for 10 days of not-work - first vacation in almost 3 years. May check-in periodically, esp if Yankees are playing absolutely terrible or absolutely great. If they continue to play semi-putrid, I'll try to become Vancouver's leading Summer Olympics expert. Enjoy the gamers and everything in between all!

under what circumstance would batting Crisp leadoff ever be justified? Fuck, why not just hit Tek leadoff?
