J.D. Drew may be joining Josh Beckett, Daisuke Matsuzaka, Tim Wakefield, Mike Lowell, David Ortiz and Julio Lugo among the Opening Day contributors to miss significant time this season.

With the Clay Buchholz disaster, Bartolo Colon's ill-advised swings, Jason Varitek's collapse into the end of his career, the vortex of suck out of center field for most of the season and the Manny Ramirez fiasco, it's amazing this team is still in first place for a playoff spot.
