Kat O'Brien reports that the proposed closing ceremonies formerly scheduled for November 7th at Yankee Stadium have been binned. Reasons? Weather, expectations, banking crises, locusts. So much for Torre getting his smile and a handshake. Then again, around that time he may still be hopping flights while touring the late-night tv circuit. I can't say I blame them. Onward and upward. Or at least onward and across the street.

Love the title, Gerb.

It's probably for the best. Let the last thing at Yankee Stadium be Mo making the last out...
