Shady dealings are par for the course in NY.

F*ck Man U! Arsenal forever!

can't the big four all lose? :P this is clint dempsey and fulham's year, i can feel it!

(my real team was relegated two years ago...)

van Persie's two gems put Arsenal ahead!

Arsenal > Chealsea

that was a great match, and chelsea are certainly more evil than arsenal. of course, give it another year and man city may be the most evil of them all...

My family lives in Ascot, just outside of London, so they've become huge Arsenal fans. My brother compared them to the Red Sox, and Man U to the Yankees, which was all the convincing I needed.

> “For this I went to law school — sigh.”

Awesome.

To nitpick a little: Arsenal and Chelsea are not exactly located in Northern England.

No problem with the Manchester United / Yankees comparison. (Didn't they even form some sort of alliance a few years ago which was basically about selling each other's merchandise?)
The Arsenal / Red Sox comparison would not have held true before 2004. Funnily enough Arsenal seem to have stopped winning titles right about when the Red Sox started winning them. But even without titles they sure play beautiful football (or soccer, if you insist).

PBE:

Well, they aren't quite Midlands, and no, you are correct, they aren't on the border of Scotland. But they are certainly not in the "beautiful south" either!

Aren't Arsenal and Chelsea both London teams? It ain't Dover, but it's still south England.

Supposedly the isles of Scilly have palm trees, but I wouldn't believe that unless I saw them in person.

I was referring to the Manchester Derby, not the Arsenal/Chelsea game, but I didn't write that clearly and mashed them up. I see the confusion.

the best football is played in the highlands. nothing beats the Old Firm rivalry (rangers vs. celtic). the rangers 51 titles makes the yanks 26 seem paltry.

long live the billy boys!
