Nope. Anderson's viewed as the 2010/2011 replacement for David Ortiz. This year is a big year for him to see if he can keep his terrific numbers going over a full AA/AAA season. Last year he spent most of the season at the launching pad of Lancaster...

Frankly, I wouldn't be surprised to see Lars get a cup of coffee in September. And if we don't get Tex, I could see Youk sliding to third and Lars taking over at first when Lowell moves on.

Hasn't Bard been on this list for about three years now? Feel like it, anyway.

Bard is 23, Sox 1st round pick in 2006 (NYY 20th round pick in 2003). Struggled with control in 2007.

Bill Lee, Hit Dog, and Greenwell all made it. Man, Greenwell has put on some weight.

Bard has reinvented himself as a stud relief prospect after struggling as a stud starting prospect. I wouldn't be surprised to see him get some appearances this season.

Also, sorry, Nick, I misread your question. Thought you were asking about Lars specifically, not a Lars in general...

to say that Bard "struggled" with control in 07 is putting it mildly, forget about walking more guys than he struck out, he walked more guys than inning's pitched, and struck out people at half the rate. it was probably one of the worest performances I've ever seen.

He does deserve a ton of credit for turning it around this year though. but the rate is still less than optimal in AA, but a improvement of biblical porportion relative to what happened in 07.

Both system is now a bit weak with all the recent grads, Lars is the best player that's pretty close to being a sure thing on either list. the Yankee's lower minor guys on the list are better ceiling wise but has a ton of quesiton marks on them. hard to say how that turns out.
