It's the truth, DC. This is a mistake on Varitek's part, I think. Boras is either overestimating or overstating the market for Varitek's "skills."

my guess is that he's overestimating the need for experienced catchers, and that teams will be willing to extend further to get one, or retain one from the sox perspective...he uses the posada contract as an example...my joke aside, there is a value for tek's services, but it is significantly less than boras has it set...
