Our pal Jay Jaffe, the Futility Infielder,recently got his relocated seat assignment at the new Yankee Stadium. Suffice it to say, he's mad as hell and he's (probably) not going to take it anymore.
The bottom line is that this is an outrage, a disgrace, a catastrophe on the level of Joe Torre summoning Jeff Weaver from the bullpen in Game Four, a Bambino rolling-in-his grave nightmare over the successor to the House that Ruth Built. A chorus four million fans strong should be shouting four- and twelve letter words at Yankee president Randy Levine and every incompetent front-office numbskull who played a role in this fiasco. A pox on the House that George Built.We feel you, Double-J.

Sorry to say but Ive had an ideal relocation experience with the yankees. I have season tickets in the upper deck and I was relocated to slightly better seats for the same yearly price. Ive had these seats since the beginning of December, so I havent had to sweat it out. Just relaying my experience to show it wasnt all bad for everyone. I realize, of course, that I had a leg up since I am a full season ticket holder. If any regulars here want tickets for face (for non-sox/yanks games sorry guys), Ill be happy to hook them up, just let me know.

We have had the Saturday plan for a few years and still haven't heard anything. I've heard a bunch of folks with the same plan were shifted to mid-week plans. I'm not upset though. It's simple supply and demand. We should have just bought season tickets then sold extras. But it looks like lots of folks are doing exactly that. Still, the after market prices for Yankee games are much better than for Sox games. Supply and demand again.
What section are you in Sam? If you've got two seats, I may just take you up on that offer if we get shut out. If you're willing to part with a few non-premium Saturday/Sunday games, I can imagine buying two or three games from you. My email is mind2brain at the google email service.

I think Jay has a reasonable amount of frustration, my father went through a similiar disaster with the Bruins when they moved to the Fleet Center after having held full-season season tickets for over three decades. Over the first few years after the move he put up with these shenanigans, but suffice it to say he is no longer a season ticket holder in any fashion, after nearly 40 years of support of the franchise. The teams just aren't that sensitive, they aren't looking at these moves as anything but business transactions. It's not personal, which is both somewhat reasonable and also a big part of the problem.
My beef with Jay is minor, and it is his last paragraph. There's just no need to go after Sox or Cubs fans or fans of any other team in this context. The truth is that yes, some day, we Sox fans (and Cubs fans) may have to deal with Jay's current reality. But at the moment the Sox have taken quite a different tack towards replenishing and reviving their old stadium. For this they deserve credit, not a pre-emptive strike across the bow from Jay towards fans who have little control over the future and who also have great empathy for what he is going through.

That about sums it up, doesn't it?
If the Sox ever move, the big difference is they better damn well have more seats, and it will be hard to justify anything less 10k more. With that supply, it will be much easier to accommodate demand.
