A little while ago, we parsed the Keith Law/ESPN.com Top 100 prospects list. Now here comes Kevin Goldstein with the Baseball Prospectus list.
In case you'd forgotten, here's what Law said were the Sox/Yankee prospects in the Top 100:

- 46: Austin Jackson
- 52: Michael Bowden
- 81: Nick Hagadone
- 83: Jesus Montero
- 90: Junichi Tazawa
- 94: Daniel Bard
- 95: Andrew Brackman
- 17: Lars Anderson
- 31: Michael Bowden
- 38: Jesus Montero
- 46: Austin Jackson
- 87: Josh Reddick
- 97: Daniel Bard

Sounds reasonable. I like a lot of the Yankees' prospects, but I am not surprised only two made it to the list. I don't think it is really fair to add Brackman to that list though, there has got to be other prospects that have actually played in pros that could have been considered.

Of Bard (listed twice) and Melancon (not listed), the latter has a bigger MLB impact this year. The difference is control.
I wonder if the Sox are holding off on re-signing Bay to see if Reddick emerges this year.

I fear Austin Jackson is more hype than legit. At best he's Mike Cameron.
