Mark Feinsand writes that "Alex Rodriguez has successful surgery on torn labrum in his right hip". Not being a doctor, I must suppose that "successful" means that he didn't expire, or maybe that they didn't need to lose the leg.

Well, that's good news. I know what Dr. Phillipon meant about "problems" and the rest of the season, but come on. Hahahahahahah. Hahahah. Hah!

@LocklandSF: There's no reason to be so stingy. The Sox should be kind to their neighbors to the south. We could also offer them Traber.
@AndrewYF: I think it's part of their dastardly plan to convince more people to come see the Sox (hey, look, we got a player named after you!)
