Xavier Nady needs Tommy John surgery and is out for the rest of the season. Given the usual 12-month recovery time, this obviously puts quite a dent in his 2010 season, as well.

Just glad he isn't signed for 2010. Though, knowing Cashman, they'll re-sign him to rehab with the team. But by the time he comes back, he's a below average outfielder.

This is bad news for the yankees and given the freakish nature of the injury and Nady's age, it doesnt fall into the category of another old vet going down for an aging team....a shame really, I was looking forward to seeing him play this year.
