Seeing the Yankees round out their team so quickly is really depressing. Come on Theo, make some stuff happen!

THe only problem with that is Hughes would most likely be on a 150 inning count this year if he starts. Also, what will Mike do if both Hughes and Joba are starters?

Great work, team. Now it's time to sign a DH or LF from one of Damon, Matsui, Cameron, Delgado, or Thome and one of Bedard, Sheets, and Harden and call it an off-season.

Cashman loves to take a few weeks off for the holidays. It will be getting quiet soon enough. Still, I do wonder why the Sox have been so methodically slow. First Hardy and now all this quietness, it does seem like they're content to merely contend in 2010 and reload next winter. Either that or they're trying to wait out Toronto.

...and don't forget to save some $$$ to sign Crawford NEXT year!!!

It's not as sweet as the "in-perpetuity" contract Boston has with Wake, but it sure like it.

Oh yeah? Well the Sox now have not one, but TWO Ramon Ramirez's in their bullpen. How many Ramon Ramirez's do the Yankees have in their bullpen?

Advantage: Boston.

Also, there's a lot of talk about the Sox trading Lowell to Texas for catcher Max Ramirez. Precursor to a bigger move for a 1B or 3B?

I think that if they trade Lowell you guys are looking at 3 or 4 years (at alot of money) for Adrian Beltre. It would be an upgrade in age and fielding and potentially hitting for the Sox--assuming that Lowell's hip is not going to ever be great again and his numbers and effectiveness at third base is diminished.
